Session on Neonatal Diseases

Neonatal diseases are existing before birth or at the time of birth or even develop during the first month of the infant. The maternal health factors such as high Body-mass index and external pollution could also affect the infant’s immune system and leads to the invading of neonatal diseases.

Neonatal diseases such as,

I. Perinatal asphyxia: There is a lack of oxygen during the birth process. It may lead to seizures, kidney failure, heart failure

II. Bronchopulmonary dysplasia: It is a chronic lung disease in premature infants. The lung and bronchi are affected during the neonatal period and lead to dysplasia.

III. Hyperbilirubinemia: It is a condition in which there is more amount of bilirubin in the blood. It is caused by the mother’s immune system produced antibodies against the infant's blood type.

IV. Neonatal Respiratory distress Syndrome/Hyaline Membrane Disease: If the lungs are not fully developed it may lead to Respiratory distress syndrome or Hyaline Membrane Disease.

Session on Neonatal Syndromes

Neonatal Syndromes are a group of symptoms occur together and affect the health of infants. The infants affected by syndromes will suffer at their early or later stage in their lives.

I. Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome:

Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) is a group of conditions. When a baby is exposed to addictive opiate drugs while in the mother’s womb may lead to the NAS. Mostly the problems occur at the later stages of life.

II. Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome:

Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome is caused by intrauterine blood transfusion from one twin to another twin. TTTS mostly occurs when the blood transfer between identical twins with the common monochorionic placenta.

Congenital heart disease is a common Neonatal cardiac disease. Newborns affected with the Congenital heart disease are symptomatic and the disease could be identified after birth. If there is any delay in diagnosis may lead to high-risk to increase the mortality rate.

Vaccines, such as Hepatitis B-vaccine (HBV), Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG), Rotavirus vaccine (RV) can evoke protective neonatal responses. The antenatal steroid will enhance the pulmonary maturity attacking microorganisms and infections and deliver substances to destroy.

The neonate's survival requires high specialty care for the first month from birth. There are many possibilities to increase the infant mortality rate in their first month, globally nearly one infant dead in 1000 live birth in their initial stage after birth. The neonatal mortality rate (NMR) is weekend into the early and late mortality rate. Worldwide around 2.6 million infants die at their first month from birth.

Market Analysis

15th International Conference on Neonatology and Pediatrics is purely focused on the medical practices, drugs used to treat the immature infants and the new technologies to improve therapeutic procedures in Neonatology and Pediatrics. This Conference will help to aware the people to prevent neonatal diseases and promote Neonatal and perinatal medical education with new ideas and discoveries.

Globally, every year the stubborn of neonate mortality is drastically increased. With reference to WHO, 8.8 million deaths occur annually among infants and children in less than 5 years of age. Due to Neonatal diseases around 36% of neonatal deaths are occurred every year. The professionally-oriented educational training to cure neonatal diseases is vital to clinicians and clinical academics and that will enhance the future generation, to be the key area for global health. In 2014, worldwide total pharmaceutical revenues had exceeded one trillion U.S. dollars for the first time. In 2017 the neonatal intensive care secured a revenue valuation of US $5.9 billion. By 2025, the global market for neonatal intensive care is expected to earn around US $ 9 billion.

Case Reports:

In London, there are more factors known to be associated with a higher risk for infants. Factors such as Low socio-economic status, Maternal age (<20yrs and >35yrs), Not breastfeeding, Poor maternal nutritionMaternal obesity, Late booking for antenatal-care, uncontrolled smoking and alcohol conception at the time of pregnancy, Maternal morbidity (diabeteshypertension) and Low birth weight. People should decrease smoking at the time of pregnancy and improve the quality of antenatal care is required to prevent the above risk factors.

The ONS classification Groups found that East Inner London and West Inner London both had comparatively higher Infant mortality rates by Social Class. Compared to other regions of England, London had a higher infant mortality rate for babies born outside marriage and registered by the mother alone. The levels of deprivation and prevalence of low birth weight in London is 7.5%. Between2007-2009 the infant mortality rate in London is 4.4%.

As per the statistical report from The New York Times, United Kingdom has manufactured approximately 20 percent of the world's best-selling drugs. According to the Office for National Statistics, between 2008 and 2014, up to £8 billion annual revenue was generated by the pharmaceutical sector and its total worth is nearly £30 billion. So, the contribution of the pharmaceutical sector has essentially raised the revenue, for the growth of the national economy. The recent market research has shown that, in 2018, the sector will have grown by 2 percent and there is a positive progressive growth in the pharmaceutical sector. The production of generic drugs, small molecules, therapeutic proteins, and other specialist services are performed as an important sub-sectors in London.
